FLDSCC’s patient population is not concentrated in a single office. Our presence across multiple communities can also support outreach to dermatology, primary care, and other community practices whose patients may be appropriate for clinical trials, expanding recruitment beyond the FLDSCC patient population alone.
The result is a recruitment model that combines existing specialty patient access, community engagement, and regional referral outreach with centralized research execution.
FLDSCC is building its research model around a simple principle: centralize study execution while extending patient identification across the clinical network.
Research operations are coordinated through Winter Haven, providing a consistent environment for study staff, participant visits, documentation, regulatory activity, sponsor communication, and protocol-specific research procedures.
At the same time, physicians and advanced-practice clinicians throughout the FLDSCC network can help identify and refer potentially appropriate patients.
This combines the operational discipline of a centralized research site with the patient-access advantages of a multi-location specialty practice.
FLDSCC’s research operations exist within an established clinical dermatology environment, with dedicated space and resources for study activities.
Depending on protocol requirements, site capabilities may include dedicated research examination space, participant consultation and informed-consent areas, monitor workspace, specimen collection and processing, secure study storage, investigational-product management, and dermatology-specific clinical procedures.
